as the river recedes forestville fire department officials say they are standing by just in case they are needed...in forestville haaziq madyun kron4news (robin) in the east bay... oakland teachers will be on strike for a seventh day today. this comes after the teachers union says the district did the right thing in cancelling yesterday's meeting... in light of the largely empty classrooms and the on-going negotiations. the majority of students have not crossed the picket lines and are staying out of classrooms. it's not clear if both sides are getting any closer to reaching a deal. (robin) and more teachers in the east bay could soon strike. this is video as teachers walked out of california high school in san ramon yesterday. the demonstration happened during the lunch hour-- and did not disrupt classes. teachers also walked out during lunchtime at country club elementary. teachers with the san ramon valley unified school district are currently voting to authorize a strike as contract

the 7-eleven at the corner of laurel and chestnut streets. an american citizen, tapia fled to durango, mexico, where he was tracked down with the help of the fbi. bertram farries/f.b.i.besides tapia, three other besides tapia, three other suspected gang members have been implicated in the case and a fourth suspect is also thought have fled to mexico. the d.a. says law enforcement wont rest until all of those involved in the killing have been brought to justice.jeff rosell/santa

cruz county district attorney rob fladeboe/santa cruz "....ivan tapia is being held without bail here in the santa cruz county jail. he is scheduled to be arraigned friday on charges of murder with several gang enhancements. in santa cruz rob fladeboe ron4news (robin) also in the east bay... investigators believe slick roads played a factor in a crash... that killed three family members. it happened on interstate- 80... not far from the bay bridge toll plaza yesterday. the family's car crashed into a big- rig stopped on the side of westbound interstate- 80 in oakland maze. two women and a man died in the crash... a 17 year old was taken to the hospital. police say... the teen is related to the three people who died. they also believe speed may have been a factor in the crash. identity of the victim who was buried by the landslide at fort funstson in san francisco. here are pictures of the woman. 22- year old kyra sunshine scarlet was walking with her dog and a friend, when a landslide happened. her friend and the dog both made it out alive.however ... scarlett's body has yet to be found. originally from florida and utah, she had been living in oakley at the time of the landslide. by officers-- has filed a lawsuit against the vallejo police department. 20-year-old willie mc-coy was killed outside a taco bell drive-thru on admiral callaghan lane last month. civil rights attorney john

burris is demanding body camera video be released. he says mc-coy was shot 25 times after being startled awake by police. officers say mccoy suddenly began to move and reached for a handgun on his lap. the police department has not yet responded to the lawsuit. (robin) as communities around the country deal with water contamination issues ... lawmakers want to ensure americans have access to clean and safe drinking water. a new proposed bill would provide 35 billion dollars a year for water infrastructure. the money is for projects like replacing leaking pipes in schools and communities. bay area representative ro khanna is one of the sposors of the bill. the bill would also work to update wells and septic systems in rural areas. supporters say, the plan would create up to one -million new jobs. some students are taking the game too far. we've had prowler calls where a resident is calling in that a person in dark clothing is up on their front porch and it looks like they have a gun in their hand and she called the police. and we've had it to where vehicles are chasing each other through town we've had one where they have yelled out i shot you! i shot you! which prompts citizens to call 911. -sssome say the game can easily lead to serious situations... honestly it's just a big risk that really isn't worth taking.-npbecause police have to respond to every call as if it's real. if we get called there's been a shooting and a car is involved we are going pull you over. we're going to have several police officers there in cars and we're going to point guns at you because we don't know. -ssin stockton, kg, (robin) live look outside... at the san francisco international airport.

a strange fish washed up on shores of santa barbara last week... and now researchers have identified what it actually is. the seven-foot fish is a "hood-winker sunfish"... which is similar to sunfishes found in small aquariums. its only known to be found in places like australia, new zealand and south africa. this is the first time its been seen in north america.
